About EdgeKids
EdgeKids is the Children's Ministry of Edgewood Baptist Church, Rock Island, Illinois. We offer programming and care for children from infancy to 6th Grade. We are excited about sharing the GOOD NEWS of God's Word to children in a way they can understand.
Our Mission
Our mission is to lead children to KNOW Jesus as their Savior, to GROW to know Him better, to SHOW Jesus to the world through serving, and to GO with the Gospel.
EdgeKids Programming
Weekend Ministry
There's a place for every kid at Edgewood! EdgeKids is designed to provide a safe and fun environment where children experience God's love for them through Bible teaching, music, discussion, and age-appropriate activities.
AWANA Clubs
Awana is an international, evangelical Christian program focused on child and youth discipleship. It is every Wednesday from September through April for children aged three years through 6th grade. The Awana name is derived from 2 Timothy 2:15: "Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed." The Awana curriculum is also utilized on Thursday night at Youth Group for students 7th-12th grade.
Vacation Bible School (VBS)
Each summer, kids completely have a blast learning about Jesus.
Your Child's Safety
A word about security: Great care is given to the safety of children. We have a secure children's ministry area and check-in system. Everyone who serves in the children's ministry at Edgewood has undergone child safety training and background checks.
What to Expect
- Secure electronic check-in for every child
- Controlled access to children’s ministry areas
- All volunteers complete child safety training
- Background checks are required for every volunteer
